User Experience Design

User Experience Design (UX) refers to the process of designing the experience the user takes on a website (or in the physical world) to make it more efficient / productive / easier to use. Here’s a good summary on Wikipedia of what UX (User Experience Design) is all about.

UX often goes by many names within the industry. You may hear the same concept referred to many ways:

  • Usability Analysis
  • User Interface Analysis
  • Usability Design
  • Usability Interaction
  • User Interaction Design
  • Wireframes (part of the process)
  • Storyboarding (part of the process sometimes)
  • Prototyping (part of the process sometimes)
  • and probably many others

Basically, the concept works like this. Lucid Agency will sit down with you and determine what type of customer you want to connect with. Once we know that, we’ll need to research where that customer is coming from. Once we know where they are coming from, we’ll look at what processes are out there currently that are working to convert customers, and of course, those that aren’t. We will then work to develop a process that will result in a smooth and simply application on your web property [website, landing page, lead form...]. This will result in an increase in the 1) conversion rate, 2) the qualification of the customer you receive.

Myth: there is 1 correct, or perfect process. We’re not shooting to make the perfect process. The perfect user experience is one that engages the consumer and convinces the consumer to take the action you want them to take (hopefully you have a good product that they already want to engage with). There will always be changes that can be done, and we are big fans of testing the process and refining it continually. As the landscape changes, and as your customer (and often your business) change, you will need to adjust the process to work within the confines of the current environment. But don’t worry, that’s part of the excitement and what leads to the phenomenal success that our clients often experience from the UX process.
